Darlene Strickland
Bookkeeper & Membership Coordinator
Like many Alaskans, Darlene was born outside of Alaska, but she is proud to call Alaska home. She grew up in Southeast Alaska and Palmer, attending high school in Kenai and receiving her BA from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho. Every summer break, Darlene would return and work in the fish processing plants in Soldotna and Kenai.
Darlene started at Alaska Miners Association in July of 2007. Like everyone at AMA, Darlene has a cherished rock story to share. As a child in Wrangell, she went to Garnet ledge twice to dig garnets; she still has a tin of them today. And be sure to ask her about her gold panning exploits.
Darlene is a proud Navy mom, very active in home, community, and her church, she volunteers for children’s programs, and assists on the mobile food pantry affiliated with the Anchorage Food Bank.
